Caitlyn Chase Founder of Caviar & Cashmere

Caitlyn Chase started Caviar & Cashmere as a luxury lifestyle blog in 2011. She launched the blog after years of writing about fashion and beauty for numerous magazines. “I wanted an outlet that was my own, where I could write about all of the things that I discovered and loved the most. I was very fortunate to have gotten into the industry at the right time, as the blogging space had just begun to take off.” The Caviar & Cashmere blog gained significant traction pretty quickly, and she owes it to not only being at the right place at the right time, but also identifying the niche, which was luxury lifestyle content.

“I grew the blog over many years, partnering with some of my favorite brands in the world from Four Seasons to Aston Martin to MAC and Amazon, to name a few.” She dove deeper into the beauty industry during this time, not only writing about beauty brands and products, but also researching the industry as a whole. “I found a gap in the skincare market, and decided that I wanted to solve the problem.”

Caitlyn found that there were so many skincare brands and products out there, many of which she was sent to review on her blog. “What I realized was there weren’t too many brands who were simplifying the process, instead, over-complicating it with 10-step routines. I, myself, found the overwhelm of products to be daunting and wished it was more straightforward.”

She sent out to formulate a line of products that streamlined the skincare routine, dwindling it down to just three steps. “Caviar & Cashmere Skincare was launched in 2018 with three core products -- a cleanser, a serum, and a moisturizer, which are made for all skin types. The products simplify the skincare routine because they are meant to be used together both morning and night. All of my products are clean, cruelty-free, and vegan, and have an accessible price point at under $100.”

The Caviar & Cashmere Skincare line is now sold on their website, and in retailers in the US and Canada. Most recently, they launched on Macys.com, which was a big moment for the new but growing brand!

Today, Caitlyn runs the blog and the brand simultaneously with a small but diverse group of team members!

Caitlyn has always had a passion for beauty, fashion and wellness, which is what drove her to start writing about those topics at such a young age. She has also always been an avid reader and writer, so her interest was always fed by constantly researching and doing her homework on those topics. “The mission of my blog has always been “Inspiring readers to live a life well lived” and that has remained, and carried over into my skincare brand, as my goal is to help people live their best lives from the inside out.”

Caviar & Cashmere focuses on luxury lifestyle, mainly covering travel, beauty, skincare, fashion, wellness and home. “The content I create lives on the blog, along with my social media channels, mainly Instagram. I also contribute to other media outlets, such as morning news shows (Fox, KTLA, CBS), speak at conferences about those topics (StyleCon, BeautyCon, Women in Retail Leadership, BeautyX, etc) and am a regular guest on CNN Travel.”

To those looking to build a brand in the fashion or beauty world, Caitlyn says that she always urges people who have an interest in becoming an entrepreneur to pursue it, but to do their research first. “You have to know what you are getting yourself into. Starting your own business is hard work, and takes a lot of time and sacrifice. If you have it in you, then I am a big proponent of following your dream.” She thinks that some of the most important tools to have before embarking on an entrepreneurial journey are identifying your passion, finding a mentor, doing the research, believing in yourself and having the right mindset, and then taking action.

Caitlyns intentions for the future is to continue creating, evolving and growing in all areas of her life. “I would love to scale the Caviar & Cashmere brand into a full-scale lifestyle company, introducing new categories beyond beauty. I would love to write a book (since I began as a writer and still love doing so, with so many stories to tell) and hope to start a family. Above all, I wish to be happy and healthy."
